Hi, I’m James Schmitt, REALTOR® with Falls City Realtors, born and raised right here in Valley Station. I’m a proud graduate of Valley High School, where my passion for helping others began through my involvement with the school’s special needs department. That experience sparked a lifelong dedication to supporting individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities — helping them become active, meaningful members of their communities and assisting them in gaining and maintaining fulfilling employment.
Before diving into real estate, I spent years working closely with these incredible individuals and their families, helping them grow their independence and confidence. That work taught me patience, empathy, and the importance of genuine connection — values that now define the way I serve my real estate clients.
Outside of real estate, I stay deeply involved in my community. I currently serve as the T-Ball Commissioner at Prairie Village Baseball/Softball, where I love seeing kids learn teamwork, sportsmanship, and confidence. I also run a successful golf league at Bobby Nichols Golf Course, a 9-hole favorite here in the South End, where we’ve grown to a full roster of 26 two-man scramble teams — building friendships, competition, and plenty of great networking opportunities along the way.
Family is everything to me. When I’m not working with clients or out on the ballfield, I’m spending time with my wife and kids — cheering from the stands, coaching, or just enjoying life in the same neighborhoods I grew up in.
